Light House restaurant, Wimbledon
The Light House is everything you could wish for in a modern-day neighbourhood restaurant: from the moment you step through home, you realize it's going to be some thing unique. The inside seems the spend the simple wall space, bare lumber tables and an enhanced bar location plus sufficient window space to let the light flood in.
Chef Chris Casey is carrying on where their predecessors left off, supplying meals which has interesting echoes of Italian fusion combined with pan-Asian crossovers. Ingredients garnered from all over the spot, so don't be amazed to locate char-grilled springbok with sweet-potato mash and mushroom wonton rubbing arms with black bean marinated buffalo Mozzarella, pickled carrots and Thai basil and that is simply for beginners.
Main programs bring together plenty of contrasting components like in pan-fried cod with Brussels sprout tops, saffron butter sauce and romesco or soy-braised duck leg with spiced apple and black colored bean ragot, pak choi and tamarind jus, while desserts come back to the European motif with things like coffee pannacotta with roast apricots or pear frangipane tart with vanilla frozen dessert.
Set lunches are great value and old-fashioned roasts place in a look on Sundays. Addititionally there is a restricted menu for kids, plus a well-balanced wine number featuring some interesting things from New World.
